TAYLOR SWIFT has mansplained why she underwent a gender transformation for new pop video The Man.
The chart-topper says the track details how she feels she would be treated if she had been born a man and gives her take on how she thinks men misbehave.
‘It’s the first video I’ve directed on my own, so I’m pretty excited about it,’ the I Knew You Were Trouble singer said.
In the video, which sees Swift gain a beard, her character parties on a yacht with a bevy of bikini-clad beauties and high-fives a one-night stand.
She also gives a yummy mummy the eye on a children’s play date and manspreads on a packed train. And she is seen taking a leak against a wall at a subway station — a scene in which she takes a thinly veiled dig at record boss Scooter Braun, with whom she rowed after he bought her back catalogue. The skit sees her character relieve himself next to graffiti tag lines of her old album names and a sign that reads: ‘Missing: If found return to Taylor Swift.’
Swift, 30, said that her song against misogyny was written from ‘personal and general experiences I’ve heard from women in all parts of our industry’.
