The head of the Cairo Francophone Film Festival, film critic Dr. Yasser Moheb, announced that work is underway to discuss the details related to the Best Screenplay competition submitted by filmmakers on the genocide war in the Gaza Strip – which was launched by the Cairo Francophone Film Festival at the beginning of this month – in order to produce a film about the genocide war and translate it into several languages.
Moheb confirmed during his meeting with the Cultural Advisor to the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Cairo, Naji Al-Naji, that all scenarios that are received in succession to participate in the Francophone Film Festival competition are being followed up, as a committee has been formed to read the submitted scenarios from specialists in the film industry from Egypt and Palestine, to evaluate the scenario capable of conveying the Palestinian narrative, and he confirmed that all details related to the scenario competition and the controls, conditions and mechanisms for participating in the competition have been agreed upon.
He announced that due to the high demand for submissions, it was agreed to extend the deadline for receiving scenarios for those wishing to apply for the competition until January 31, 2025, provided that their works in the categories of narrative films, short documentary films, and docudrama are sent to the email: Palemb.com@gmail.com
Then fill out the form to view the terms and conditions, hoping that the initiative will achieve its goals by informing the largest segment of the public in the world about the reality of what the Palestinian people are exposed to on their land.
