CineGouna Film Production Support Program Announces Winners of its 7th Edition

Over $400,000 in Awards for 21 Film Projects

CineGouna Film Production Support Program, the platform of El Gouna Film Festival to support Arab film projects in the development and post-production stages, has announced the full list of winners of the program’s 7th edition, with total awards exceeding $400,000, in the form of financial and service support awards provided by El Gouna Film Festival and its prestigious sponsors.
The CineGouna Film Production Support Program jury, composed of Swiss expert Nadia Dristi, Sudanese director and producer Amjad Abu Al-Ela, and critic and artistic director of the Tunisian Carthage Film Festival Lamia Guiga, and after consulting with the sponsoring companies, distributed 40 valuable awards to 21 projects that competed in the program this year.

Amr Mansi, co-founder and CEO of El Gouna Film Festival, expressed his happiness with the great diversity of awards and their record-breaking total, saying: “The interest of all film and cultural institutions in the region in supporting CineGouna’s projects to support film production confirms the trust that El Gouna Film Festival has gained from everyone, as it is the place where projects are born that later become great films chosen by major festivals around the world.”

While Ahmed Shawky, President of CineGouna Film Production Support, spoke about the seventh edition, saying: “During the days of CineGouna Film Production Support, the makers of the 21 participating projects held 174 individual meetings with companies, institutions and international festivals participating in the festival, and the 40 awards were distributed among all projects, confirming the valuable addition that CineGouna provides to talented filmmakers, whether through direct support or opening up horizons for networking and cooperation with everyone who can benefit them.”
