Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) is pleased to announce the middle east premiere of Back to Alexandria by Tamer Ruggli among its 45th edition official competition section.
The film is the first feature of the director and it stars the legendary French actress Fanny Ardant and the multitalented actress, director Nadine Labaki.
The film follows Sue whom after twenty years of absence, must return to her native Egypt to see her mother Fairouz, an eccentric aristocrat from whom she has been estranged. This surprising journey, leading her from Cairo back to Alexandria, tinted with distant memories, nostalgia, and mixed feelings about her past, will allow Sue to become the empowered woman she ought to be.
